Rwanda from 2019 welcomed new luxury hotel chains in the tourism industry which include Singita & Kataza, One & Only Resorts – Rwanda, Wilderness Rwanda managing Bisate and Magashi which have today taken the operation management of Sabyinyo Silver Back Lodge and giving it a new name related to them and known as “Wilderness Sabyinyo”.

As announced in March last year 2022, the Wilderness Rwanda team took on the management and day-to-day operations of Sabyinyo Silver Back Lodge from the Governor’s Camp an eco-friendly safari company managing safari camps in Kenya. This was a very successful transition and we are happy knowing that our beloved gorilla trekking lodge is in the safe hands of one of Africa’s leading conservation and hospitality companies.

Sabyinyo has now officially joined Wilderness Rwanda and has been renamed ‘Wilderness Sabyinyo‘. This time round you will find that the lodge has upgraded the services and the rate and as of now the fares are as you can see below but still remains affordable to travelers visiting the Volcanoes National Park taking single, double or triple gorilla trekking safaris in the park. The gorilla permit cost $ 1500 US dollars but during low season from November to May a permit cost $ 1050 US dollars and this is available when you add on your visit to Akagera and here we do offer a luxury gorilla wildlife safari staying at Wilderness Sabyinyo and Magashi. More if you are in Rwanda for a conference then you can secure a gorilla permit at $ 1275 US dollars.

Also, we have got other experiences that you can enjoy in the Volcanoes National Park like the personalized & exclusive mountain gorilla visits for a requested targeted Gorilla family costing US$ 15,000. The Behind the scenes costing US$ 30,000 for a minimum of 3 visitors for 3 consecutive days.

Enjoy the more suitable promotional permits and this is from June – September 2023. East African Rates and Foreign Residents costing US $ 200 and US $ 500 Dollars respectively. Therefore, the permit has to be purchased one month before the trekking date as per Rwanda Development Board policy.
